One day you’ll have to choose which side you’re on.  One day you’ll have to fight for what you love. One day you may have to pay that cost

He shared more that a joke with me that night.  He showed me his model of a man.  He knows he’s not a man, yet he knows he’s becoming one.

“Normal is only a setting on the dryer” my bride declared proudly from the other room, overhearing my discussion with medicine’s finest. She’s right. For some reason, we all hope for normal or average. We want to know we’re not outside the bounds of everybody else. We like the predictability of it all.

Said more directly, until I become emotionally fluent, I will be ineffective in leading myself and others and will lack integration (‘integrity’).  Emotional health is critical to leadership.

Everybody comes from somewhere. Everyone enters into a story from another one.

My one rule when drinking espresso: be fully present. It’s a full-body, multi-sensory experience. No multitasking. Save that for pumpkin spice.

‘Larry’ requires me to be open about the person in front of me, while ‘lawyer’ gives me a script.  Much cleaner, even if I don’t get to ever see the person in front of me.  

Unmet expectations beget frustration, but unmet demand begets anger.
